Katelyn Ihne, LPC

With 10+ years of clinical experience—spanning from community mental health, intensive in-home therapy, and private practice—I have learned that true healing is built on a foundation of professional expertise and genuine human connection. My practice is dedicated to helping individuals balance the demands of daily life, restore their sense of self, and grow through the challenges of anxiety, depression, OCD, and mood disturbances. I believe that effective therapy requires a collaborative partnership, providing a secure and confidential environment where your beliefs and values are respected and your well-being is my absolute priority.

I am also deeply committed to a neurodivergent-affirming approach for clients navigating ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as those looking for support with social anxiety and relationship challenges. My goal is to help you better understand your unique neurotype and relational patterns while providing practical support for executive functioning and communication. To support your journey, I draw from a diverse therapeutic toolkit, including CBT, ACT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Whether we are strengthening your coping tools or pursuing long-term personal transformation, I am here to help you move toward a life that feels authentic and restored.

Helping you find balance, restore hope, and grow through life's challenges with compassionate, expert care.

Outside the Therapy Room

When I’m not working, I am fully immersed in family life. As a mother of three, a large part of my time is spent serving as the unofficial chauffeur for a revolving schedule of sports and activities, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and drinking LOTS of coffee. I know firsthand what it’s like to balance the mental load of a household while trying to find a moment of peace. When we aren't on the go, you’ll find me leaning into the Restore pillar of my own life—relaxing with my friends and family, finding ways to have fun, and recharging for the week ahead. I bring that same real-world understanding of the "daily juggle" into every session we have together and I am here to work through it alongside of you.

What to Expect at KNI Therapy

I believe that therapy shouldn’t be a mystery. From your first appointment, my goal is to provide a structured yet flexible environment where you feel seen, understood, and equipped with real-world tools.

The Initial Consultation

Every journey begins with a free 15-minute consultation. This is a low-pressure space to discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your goals, and ensure that my clinical approach is the right fit for your unique needs.

Your First Few Sessions: Finding Balance

The first session or two will be primarily focused on gathering information about you and what is bringing you to therapy at this time. This includes a semi-structured interview in which I will ask questions about you, your upbringing, your work/education history, goals for therapy, etc.

Our early work is focused on stability. I take the time to understand your history and your "brain wiring," identifying the immediate triggers that are tipping your scales. You can expect to leave these sessions with a clearer understanding of your symptoms and a few practical CBT or Mindfulness tools to help you find your footing in daily life.

Deepening the Work: Restore & Grow

As we progress, sessions become more of a blend of insight on what you want your life to look like and active skill-building.

  • Active Engagement: Unlike traditional "passive" talk therapy, we will work together to formulate a plan.

  • A Neurodiversity-Affirming Space: I constantly adjust our sessions and communication to meet your individual needs. I do not believe in a ‘one-size fits all’ approach and truly believe that everyone is different in their own way.

  • Purposeful Growth: Between sessions, we often provide "home practice"—small, manageable actions that help you take the growth we achieve in the room and apply it to your real-world relationships and career.
